Nicoleta was born on November 4th, 1998. She lived in Orphanage #3 in Barlad until she was four years old and placed in foster care. Nicoleta is a special needs child that has faced many challenges in her young life. She was born with a cleft palate for which she has had one surgery and will need more. She also attends our school for autistic children and receives therapy Monday-Friday.

Nicoleta is starting to progress in small ways. When she was first placed in foster care in August, 2002, she was very serious and seemed unhappy. She rarely laughed or smiled. Now she smiles and laughs a lot and sometimes shrieks with laughter. She was initially afraid to go outside, but now loves going outdoors. Her new environment is making a big difference in her life.
