Mihaela was born August 17th, 1998 in Barlad. She stayed at Barlad Maternity until she was transferred to the village hospital in Tutova. She spent the next 3 years of her life at Tutova with many other little children who were in similar circumstances.

On October 22nd, 2001, Mihaela left Tutova to be placed with a foster family. The foster family has a biological daughter whom Mihaela has loved very much. Mihaela has made much progress in her new environment. She is a very sweet and calm child, counts to 20, knows 4 poems, speaks in full sentences, and knows her colors. She started kindergarten in September, 2002.

Mihaela also has a foster sister, Marimar, a foster child from Codaesti who joined the family in June, 2002. The two girls are the same age and have been extremely happy together. The placement of these two girls have been a wonderful situation for all involved.
