Lavinia was born on July 12th, 2002 and lived in Barlad Children’s Hospital until October 24th, 2002. She was then placed in foster care with a foster mother who had previously fostered another child. That child was later adopted.

Lavinia has just turned one year old. She is a small child, but was premature at birth. When Lavinia left the hospital at 3 months, she had more than doubled her weight, but was still very tiny. She had eating problems at first, but is doing better now. She is also starting to take her first steps. Lavinia is a curious child and wants to know everything. She is starting to speak a lot of new words, some that the family understands and some they don’t!

Lavinia is a lovely child and her foster mother is very proud of her. She is referred to as “her peach of a girl.”
