Ionela was born August 27, 1996 at Barlad Maternity. From there she was transferred to Tutova Hospital where she lived until June 4, 2001, when she was placed in foster care by Bridge of Love. Her new family consists of a mother, father, and an older sister and brother who are twins. The sister and brother are grown and no longer live at home, so Ionela gets a lot of attention from her parents.

Ionela and her foster families had many adjustments at first. Learning to live with a family at the age of five was a challenge. However, the parents have been wonderful and the family has adjusted to the new situation and all are very happy. Ionela will be attending regular school this year, having completed the preparatory schooling that Romanian children attend.

Ionela’s foster family lives in a home and has a yard with many animals. Ionela has helped care for the animals and has learned a lot of responsibility in this environment. A family in the United States is working to adopt Ionela and we are anxious for her to join her permanent family.
