Ionela was born on March 19th, 1999 in Barlad. From the maternity ward of the hospital, she was transferred to Tutova Hospital, a distrofic center, where she lived until March 7th, 2002. She was then placed by Bridge of Love with a foster family in Barlad.

Ionela is a very pretty girl with dark hair and big dark eyes. Her speech has blossomed since coming to her new home. When she hears a new word that she can’t pronounce, she goes into her bedroom and repeats the word over and over to herself until she has mastered the pronunciation. Then she joins the family and shares her accomplishment.

Ionela started attending kindergarten in September, 2002. She loves going each day to learn and to play with the other children. Ionela has fit in very well with her new foster family. The family has their own 13-year-old daughter, Miruna, and Ionela loves to play with her. Ionela loves to play with dolls and to pretend she is the mother. She also likes pretending that she is a princess.
