Alin was born on January 1st, 1998, in Barlad, Romania. He stayed in Barlad Maternity until he was transferred to Tutova Hospital, where he stayed until July 24th, 2001. Records on the child were scarce, and no first name had been given. Consequently, the child went by “Ghindu” which was his last name and the only one listed in his file. After being placed in foster care, abandonment procedures were taken, and after many months, this little boy finally received an identity, a birth certificate, and a name.

Alin has adjusted well to his new family. He has a foster mother and an older sister. He started school in September, 2002, and likes being around the children and as he puts it, “having fun!”
